The Best Iced Tea Ever
20 February 2007
A recipe I got from a friend in Texas that makes the best iced tea ever (thanks, Johnny Ray!):
Ingredients
- 4 bags Lipton, naturally decaffeinated, tea
- 2 bags of Earl Grey (I prefer Twinings of London brand)
- 1 cup sugar (preferably organic)
- 1 gallon of filtered drinking water
Process
- Boil about half the water in a pot or kettle...it really doesn't matter, just make it HOT!
- Remove the water from heat and tie all six tea bags together. Put them in the hot water and let 'em seep for about 10 minutes
- Pour the hot water into a pitcher and stir in the sugar until it dissolves completely
- Add the remaining water and stir it again (to speed things up you could add ice instead of water)
- Put it in the fridge and let her chill
- Once chilled, enjoy the Best Iced Tea Ever*
