Daddy's Girl
Hey there! This post was written in 2007, so it may contain information that is no longer accurate or thoughts that no longer reflect how I feel. As human beings, we're constantly learning and bettering ourselves through experiences and interactions with the world and each other.
I keep posts like this around for historical purposes and to prevent link rot, so please keep this in mind as you're reading.
— Cory
She wanders around without a clue
A little girl that envies you
You watch her grow up everyday
She makes you smile in every way
A gift from somewhere up above
She's filled with everlasting love
Her eyes shine when she looks at you
So bright and perfect, who ever knew?
With jammies on she hops in bed
You start to leave, but then instead
You hold her close and rub her back
A story before she hits the sac
You do the voices perfectly
She follows along with 1-2-3
Before lights out, a hug and kiss
A moment that you wouldn't miss
And while she rests so quietly
Your heart is melting silently
Thoughts of how she's growing up
No more bib or sippy cup
The way she's gotten so darn clever
You wish these things would last forever
The giggles and the playful roars
The crawling around all over floors
The tickles and the teasing grins
The it-don't-matter-if-you-wins
The piggybacks and horsey rides
The swing sets and the twirly slides
The holding hands, the happy smiles
The stay-up-just-a-little-whiles
The snuggles and the rosy cheeks
The zerberts and the goofy squeaks
She learns so much come every day
And loves so much in every way
That nothing could destroy her world
As long as she is daddy's girl
